Refund Policy

Subject to legal review — interim policy pending professional legal sign-off
Note: This is an interim Refund Policy that has been drafted but not yet reviewed by legal counsel. It is effective as of the date above and will be updated following professional legal review. If you have billing questions, please contact us at contact@ridhatech.com.
This Refund Policy governs refund and cancellation requests for subscriptions to the Valo platform (the "Service"), operated by Ridha Tech. Capitalised terms used here — including Service, Subscription, Predictions, User, and Content — carry the same meanings defined in our Terms of Service.
Because the Service delivers informational access — sports intelligence, probability assessments, and analytical Predictions via WhatsApp — rather than a physical or downloadable good, this policy is designed specifically for that model. Please read it in conjunction with our Terms of Service, which explains the educational and informational nature of the Predictions we provide.
1. General Refund Eligibility
A Subscription to the Service grants access to Ridha Tech's sports intelligence platform for the duration of the billing period. That access constitutes delivery of the Service, regardless of whether any specific Prediction's outcome was favourable to you.
This means: dissatisfaction with a Prediction's outcome — a match result that differed from our probability assessment, a suggested bet that did not pay out — is not grounds for a refund. As our Terms of Service make clear, Predictions are educational information, not guarantees. Sports outcomes are inherently uncertain, and our platform is designed to help you reason about probability, not to assure specific results. Access to the Service was delivered as intended.
The circumstances where a refund does apply are narrower and specific, described in Section 2 below.
2. Circumstances Where a Refund Applies
We will consider and, where confirmed, process refunds in the following situations:
2a. Technical Failure Preventing Service Access
If a verified technical failure on our side — not a WhatsApp outage or your device issue — prevents you from accessing the Service for more than 48 consecutive hours, you may be eligible for a prorated refund covering the affected period. To qualify, you must report the issue through our Contact page under the "Billing Help" category while the outage is ongoing or within 7 days of its resolution, and we will need to be able to verify the failure against our system logs.
2b. Duplicate or Erroneous Billing
If you were charged more than once for the same billing period, or charged an amount different from the price displayed at the time of purchase, we will refund the erroneous charge in full. Include your Flutterwave transaction reference when you contact us — that significantly speeds up verification.
2c. 24-Hour Cooling-Off Window (New Subscriptions Only)
If you are a new subscriber and you request a refund within 24 hours of your first Subscription payment — and have not received or consumed Predictions during that window — we will process a full refund of that initial payment. This cooling-off window applies to first-time purchases only, not to renewals or subsequent billing periods. Renewal payments are not eligible for this window; please cancel before your renewal date if you no longer wish to subscribe.
3. Cancellation and Refund Are Not the Same Thing
Cancelling your Subscription stops future automatic renewals. It does not retroactively refund the current billing period. If you cancel mid-period, you retain access to the Service through the end of the period you already paid for — you simply will not be charged again after it ends.
To cancel, manage your Subscription through your account page or contact us at contact@ridhatech.com. A refund request is a separate step — if you believe your situation meets the criteria in Section 2, contact us as described in Section 4.
4. How to Request a Refund
Submit your request through our Contact page and select the "Billing Help" category. Please include the following in your message — incomplete requests take longer to resolve:
- The email address or phone number registered to your Valo account
- The date and approximate amount of the charge in question
- Your Flutterwave transaction reference (found in your email receipt or payment confirmation)
- A clear description of the issue and which of the Section 2 criteria you believe applies
We aim to respond within 5 business days. Where a refund is approved, it will be returned to the original payment method via Flutterwave. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer and is typically 5–10 business days from approval, though it can vary.
5. Chargebacks and Bank Disputes
We understand that contacting your bank or card issuer directly can feel like a faster path when something goes wrong with a charge. We ask that you contact us first through the process in Section 4, because we can typically resolve billing disputes faster and without the friction a formal dispute process introduces.
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank before attempting to resolve the issue with us, your account may be suspended during the dispute period as a precautionary measure — a standard practice for subscription services. Once a chargeback is filed, the outcome is determined through Flutterwave's dispute process and your bank's policies, which we are required to participate in. Filing a chargeback for a charge that does not qualify as fraudulent or erroneous may affect your ability to subscribe in the future.
6. Your Rights Under Local Law
Depending on where you are located, you may have additional rights under your local consumer protection laws that this policy does not limit or replace. For example, users in the European Union may have specific rights under EU consumer legislation for digital services, including mandatory withdrawal rights that differ from the terms above. Users in other jurisdictions may similarly have statutory rights this policy cannot override.
This policy is not intended to — and does not — limit any statutory rights you may have. If local law grants you rights that exceed what is described here, those rights apply. We are not in a position to enumerate every jurisdiction's rules in this document; that is a matter this policy will address more specifically following professional legal review. If you believe your local rights apply to your situation, please mention that when you contact us.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy as our service evolves, as we complete legal review, or as applicable law changes. When we make material changes, we will notify you at least 14 days in advance via email to your registered address and/or a message through the Valo WhatsApp interface. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
Continuing to use the Service after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with a change, you may cancel your Subscription before it takes effect.
Questions About Billing
Use the Contact page and select "Billing Help", or email us at contact@ridhatech.com. This policy should be read alongside our Terms of Service, which governs the overall Subscription agreement.
Legal Review Checklist
For internal use — not legal advice. Items pending professional attorney review before this policy is treated as final.
1. Cooling-Off Window (24 Hours)
Drafted as 24 hours for new subscribers only. Confirm with legal counsel whether mandatory local rules require a longer window. EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU grants a 14-day withdrawal right for digital services — unless the user explicitly consents to immediate performance and acknowledges losing the right to withdraw. The current 24-hour draft likely conflicts with EU requirements and needs attorney confirmation before this policy applies to EU subscribers.
2. Flutterwave Merchant Agreement
Flutterwave's dispute and chargeback policies may impose obligations on what this policy must say or commit to. The Flutterwave merchant agreement should be reviewed to confirm that the chargeback language in Section 5 and the refund process in Section 4 are consistent with Flutterwave's merchant requirements.
3. Tension With Terms of Service §5 Disclaimer
The ToS §5 ('Nature of the Service') frames Valo as an educational informational platform, not a goods or transactional service. Offering any refund window (Section 2c) could potentially be read as implicitly acknowledging a transactional 'delivery' model. Attorney review should confirm that the cooling-off window does not undermine or contradict the educational-service framing that limits liability in the ToS.
4. Nigeria Consumer Protection
The Consumer Protection Council Act (CPCA) and any Nigeria-specific digital services regulations may impose additional refund or dispute resolution obligations. Nigerian counsel should confirm whether the 5-business-day response target and overall process satisfy local requirements.
5. Specific Timeframes
Placeholder assumptions used in this draft: 48-hour minimum for technical failure eligibility; 24-hour cooling-off window; 5-business-day response target; 14-day advance notice for policy changes. All of these should be confirmed with legal and business stakeholders before publication.
